It’s derived from the Italian word "avanti" (which means “forward”) and the two English words “avail” (i.e., to be of use or value to) and "canopy" (i.e., something that spans an area). The “useful innovation” concept emphasizes achieving results through meaningful ideas and actions that energize individuals and organizations.
